Song-impersonation of Bill O'Reilly by Daniel Silva, from Al Franken Contest. Excerpt of this impersonation was played on "The Al Franken Show" radio broadcast of Jan.11, 2005. Longer version was played on "The Majority Report" radio broadcast of Jan. 13, 2005 with Janeane Garafolo. The latter is here.

Bill O'Reilly calls himself a "traditionalist" ("Tim Russert" tv broadcast of Aug. 7, 2004).

It's debatable whether his obscene phone calls to Andrea Mackris are traditional.

Phones didn't exist hundreds of years ago, and so making obscene phone calls isn't a tradition going back hundreds of years.

However, married men seeking action from women besides their wives have existed for hundreds of years, and in that sense, Bill O'Reilly's attempt to commit adultery with Andrea Mackris is part of a tradition.

Bill O'Reilly, 55, who is married with two children, was sued for sexual harassment for his remarks to Andrea Mackris, 33, who was Associate Producer of his tv show "The O'Reilly Factor" and an employee of Fox News during some of this time.

He had made lewd remarks to her between May 2002 and July 2004.

Since her complaint against him includes detailed transcripts, she probably taped some of the phone conversations.

She filed the lawsuit on Oct. 13, 2004, and a settlement was announced on Oct. 28, 2004 for an undisclosed sum ("O'Reilly Settles Sex Harass Suit", CBS/AP, Oct. 28, 2004.)

A source told the Washington Post that sum would be over $2 million ("Court TV Reporter Denies Aiding Accuser In O'Reilly Sex Suit" by Howard Kurtz, Oct. 23, 2004).

Radio host Al Franken is running a contest in which fans of his show send in audio files of their impression of Bill O'Reilly.

Contestants must base their submissions on the following excerpt of Bill O'Reilly from Andrea Mackris' complaint, in which Bill O'Reilly described what he'd do if he took her on a vacation to the Caribbean:

Well, if I took you down there then I'd want to take a shower with you right away, that would be the first thing I'd do...yeah, we'd check into the room, and we would order up some room service and uh and you'd definitely get two wines into you are quickly as I could get into you I would get 'em into you... maybe intravenously, get those glasses of wine into you...

You would basically be in the shower and then I would come in and I'd join you and you would have your back to me and I would take that little loofa thing and kinda soap up your back... rub it all over you, get you to relax, hot water... and um... you know, you'd feel the tension drain out of you and uh you still would be with your back to me then I would kinda put my arm -- it's one of those mitts, those loofa mitts you know, so I got my hands in it... and I would put it around front, kinda rub your tummy a little bit with it, and then with my other hand I would start to massage your boobs, get your nipples really hard... 'cuz I like that and you have really spectacular boobs...

So anyway I'd be rubbing your big boobs and getting your nipples really hard, kinda kissing your neck from behind... and then I would take the other hand with the falafel thing and I'd put it on your pussy but you'd have to do it really light, just kind of a tease business.

Most of the contest entries of people doing a Bill O'Reilly impersonation don’t include musical accompaniment. Guitar accompaniment is something innovative which Daniel Silva decided to include.

Other Women, Some Who Work on 'The O'Reilly Factor'

Bill O'Reilly didn't actually commit adultery with Andrea Mackris as his passes were unsuccessful, but the complaint strongly suggests he has cheated on his wife with other women.

According to the complaint, some of the other women Bill O'Reilly has had affairs with and/or sexually harassed were also employees of Fox New who work on "The O'Reilly Factor."

Bill O'Reilly, Bully

The bully in Bill O'Reilly is shown in a passage of the complaint in which Andrea Mackris paraphrases what O'Reilly says he would do to any woman who spoke out about his affairs and/or sexual harassment:

If any woman ever breathed a word, I'll make her pay so dearly that she'll wish she'd never been born.

I'll rake her through the mud, bring up things in her life and make her so miserable that she'll be destroyed.

And besides, she wouldn't be able to afford the lawyers I can or endure it financially as long as I can.

And nobody would believe her, it'd be her word against mine and who are they going to believe? Me or some unstable woman making outrageous accusations?

They'd see her as some psycho, someone unstable.

It's almost enough to lead one to conclude that Bill O'Reilly isn't a fighter for "the folks" who is "looking out for you" but a creep.

Next Saturday, Part II. About the Hypocrisy of Bill O'Reilly. .
